Project Announcement – St. Aloysius Gonzaga Preschool Annex Renovation
Miller-Valentine Construction is pleased to announce the commencement of a renovation project for St. Aloysius Gonzaga School.
The 10,000 SF convent, vacated by the Sisters of St. Francis in 1991, will be converted into a Preschool Annex Building. The new space, to be completed in August, will be used as a dedicated area for the pre-school program, currently located in the lower level of the main school building.
This new space will allow St. Aloysius to more than double their preschool enrollment. Six classrooms accommodating up to 80 students will be available for the 2018/2019 school year and will include amenities such as:
- Covered canopy for drop off and pick up
- Preschool library w/reading circle
- Private Director’s office
- Integrated smart boards
- Snack prep counter, storage, and refrigerator
- Teacher work area
- Music room
- Restroom facilities in each classroom
According to Carrie Gould, Director of Development, “This is an exciting endeavor for our school, and we look forward to providing a modern, energized environment to interact with the youngest members of our community during their very formative years”.

Also receiving upgrades in the Preschool Annex will be the new parish community room, located on the lower level of the facility, complete with refreshment center, sink, refrigerator and coffee station. The St. Vincent DePaul Pantry, utilizing a separate entrance for those seeking assistance with food needs will continue operations during this time. The Senior Center will also be relocated to the lower level of this building.
St. Aloysius Preschool offers a host of benefits to students not always offered by other preschool programs, including:
- Teachers certified in Early Childhood Education
- Before and After School Care
- 2, 3 and 5-day programs
- Hot lunches
