Miller-Valentine Group & East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization Announce Ground Breaking of Market Street Lofts
Miller-Valentine Group and East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization (ELCPR) are proud to announce, in conjunction with their partner organizations, the Ground Breaking of Market Street Lofts, a brand new multifamily apartment community. The ceremony will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at the site of Market Street Lofts, located at the corner of West 5th Street and Market Street in East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
Miller-Valentine Group and East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization, along with their partners; the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, City of East Liverpool, Columbiana County, Key Bank and National Development Council; are developing Market Street Lofts as a part of the Federal Affordable Housing Tax Credit Program. The development will involve the demolition of multiple buildings along Market Street and Fifth Street.
We are honored to have several distinguished speakers at this event, including Tim Ross, Eastern Ohio Regional Liaison, Ohio Governor John Kasich’s Office; Ryan Stovall, Mayor, City of East Liverpool; Pete Schwiegeraht, Senior Developer, Miller-Valentine Residential Development; Tom Andrews, Executive Director, Community Action Agency of Columbiana County; Tom Muth, Assistant Vice President – Member Relations, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati; Ben Goates, Acquisitions Manager, National Development Council; and Craig Newbold, Owner and President, Soaring Eagle, LLC.
Market Street Lofts demonstrates the value of the federal housing tax credit program on numerous levels. Primarily, it delivers high-quality affordable housing for families in East Liverpool who currently have limited or no affordable housing options. Market Street Lofts will generate over $3.9 million for the local economy; this includes wages for workers and profits for local proprietors, small businesses, and corporations. In addition, the project will create 68 new jobs predominantly in the construction sector for local contractors and sub-contractors.
Brian McGeady, Partner & President of Miller-Valentine Affordable Housing Development, says “We’re thrilled to be able to work with the City of East Liverpool and East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization on this project. We look forward to having a long-term positive impact on the City, and all the residents whom we will serve our community in the coming years.”
