Construction Underway on Allied Air Facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina
Despite an exceptionally rainy season, construction crews are making tremendous progress on a 400,000 square foot expansion for Allied Air Enterprises in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
A division of Lennox International, Allied Air manufactures and distributes HVAC products. The additional space will enable Allied Air to expand its manufacturing capabilities and storage. The expansion is expected to create 20 new jobs.
Construction commenced in January, with expected completion in November. To meet the aggressive schedule, Miller-Valentine is working hand-in-hand with our customer, Red Rock Developments; Allied Air representatives; and other project partners to anticipate and remove obstacles to progress.
For example, Miller-Valentine is phasing construction of the foundations and building slab to expedite the start date of certain activities. The project is also using tilt-up wall panels, which are built on-site and tilted up into position. This method provides the project team with greater control over the schedule. Weekly meetings with subcontractors and two-week lookaheads are fostering collaboration, team-based problem-solving, and accountability.
The facility is located in the Orangeburg County Industrial Park, where Miller-Valentine previously constructed a 150,183 SF manufacturing facility that houses GKN Aerospace.
